Cyberpunk Style Engineered to Game
Ive used MSI for years motherboard, monitors and video cards. This laptop felt like a safe choice to let my kids use it since we trust the brand. Specs are specs and I wanted a brand that I’ve used. What makes the Cyborg A15 a great MSI machine is what’s underneath. We know that MSI is focused on efficient cooling and stable power and even in this more budget-friendly chassis, that core quality shows:1. Reliable Guts: The combination of the modern AMD Ryzen 7 260 and the RTX 5050 is good enough for my kids usage. It handles data quickly thanks to the 1TB NVMe SSD and the 16GB DDR5 RAM, meaning my kids aren’t waiting on load screens—they’re just playing. This stability and speed are exactly what we expect from MSI’s engineering.2. The Cooling Mindset: Like any good gaming laptop or desktop, the cooling is designed for performance. Even though the fans can get loud under load (well not that load), that’s just MSI’s Cooler Boost technology doing its job: the thermals are good enough for the GPU and CPU so they don’t throttle during gaming sessions. That stability is what you need. This isn’t just reliable; it’s also wrapped in a package that immediately appealed to the kids, which is the perfect mix for a gift:• The whole translucent black look is a fantastic piece of cyberpunk flair. The kids immediately gravitated to it. It makes the laptop feel unique and exciting—far from the generic black boxes• Gaming Experience: The 144Hz screen delivers a smooth playing experience for modern gaming, making even casual play feel responsive and high-end.The Trade-Off for all Gaming LaptopsIf you’ve used gaming laptops before, you know the biggest trade-off is usually the battery life. This is no exception. It’s an effective gaming laptop placement, but for peak performance, it needs to be plugged in. This is less about quality and more about physics: if you want high power in a slim body, you need a constant power source. If you just use the laptop normally you could get around 4 hours for battery life.

Great AMD laptop
AMD Variant for the Cyborg. AMD CPU’s for laptops have come a long way and are pretty good now. The 5050 GPU is great for most games. Some AAA titles should be playable on medium settings. The 1TB storage is perfect and for an entry level laptop more than enough. On a small screen like a 15″ laptop the 144Hz refresh rate at 1080p is just fine as well. Would recommend if looking for an AMD laptop

As advertised, no complaints.
Had it for a couple of weeks and works well for gaming and programming (though the programming has not been very intensive).

Decent gaming laptop for the price
My Three Cents:I showed my buddy this MSI Cyborg A15 and he went for it. It’s actualy perfect for him. That Ryzen 7 chip and 16GB of ram is more than enough for all his work stuff, it opens everything super fast. And the RTX 5050 card means he can play all his games like CoD and stuff with good settings and it looks real smooth on that 144Hz screen. He was also super happy it came with 1TB of storage so he has room for work files and games. He says it looks pretty cool too, not like a boring work laptop. Def a good pick for doing both.

Decent for 1080p gaming
Since I’ve been using this laptop it’s performance has been more than sufficient. I’ve been using it for day to day tasks as well as gaming. For gaming I’ve been playing games like Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Team Sonic Racing, etc. and they all run fine at 1080p on high settings. Granted these aren’t AAA titles that demand a ton but they do run fine at high settings. I did notice that the laptop like to default to the built in AMD GPU instead of the Nvidia 5050 and I had to manually set the laptop to use the 5050 over the AMD. One thing I did notice is that it seems like the 5050 seems to run games at a slightly lower fps than the AMD. This leads into power. It is significantly powerful enough to do daily tasks plus some gaming. I have noticed though that the 16 GB of RAM seems to get eaten up pretty quickly though. It could definitely use 32 GB or Windows 11 needs to be debloated. Temperatures seem to be pretty stable as well. I haven’t any over heating issues and the fans don’t spin up much except for when gaming. Temps seem stable holding around 37-39 Celsius when doing normal tasks. It also has plenty of venting on the bottom of the case to help keep those temps down. I’m also able to watch 1440p videos with no issues or dropped frames when watching on YouTube. The screen clarity is also really nice and with the 144hz refresh rate it’s very easy on the eyes and movement is very smooth. I haven’t noticed any tearing issues with videos or games. Looks wise the case is nice. It’s got several semi transparent stop on the case to see some of the internals. It is also pretty well built as well. I laptop also can be easily taken apart for clean once you have to clean out those internal areas. Also so you can access the extra slots to upgrade your RAM (yes it is upgradable) or swap out your NVME drive. Size and weight wise it is comfortable as well. Not too heavy and not overly thick. Finally the webcam, even though being a 720p camera, does produce a very good image quality. You can tell they spent a little bit of money on the sensor quality. You do have to have pretty good ambient light though to get a good picture quality when I tested this. Another issue is that the location of the mouse track pad is in a odd place and is pretty large. When typing on the keyboard part of my hand actually resets on the track pad. Because of this I’ve had the cursor move and had accidental clicks. The keyboard and trackpad location could have been thought through a little better in my opinion. Definitely a good quality laptop overall though that can do some actual gaming on.
